What we move
- Server and network racks
- Servers and storage systems
- UPS units and batteries
- Switches and network equipment
- Portable cooling units
- Workstations and office equipment
Our process
- 01Coordination with IT
We receive the equipment list and shut-down order and agree a window outside working hours.
- 02Packing and labelling
Every server is packed in anti-static packaging and labelled by rack and unit position.
- 03Transport
Shock-absorbing truck and a project manager throughout the move.
- 04Placement
Racks placed in their planned positions and handed to IT for connection and start-up.
Move a full rack or empty it?
A full rack is very heavy and sensitive. It is usually better to remove the servers, move the rack empty and reinstall them at the new site. If the rack and route allow it, a full rack can travel on a padded pallet. We decide together after an inspection.
Common questions about server room relocation
Do you connect the servers?
No. Connection and start-up are done by your IT team or network provider. We handle physical removal, packing, transport and placement.
Can the move be done at a weekend?
Yes, and most clients choose that to avoid downtime.
Do you move the offices too?
Yes. The server room can be part of a full office move.
What about heavy UPS units and batteries?
Very heavy items are moved on heavy-duty skates and, if access requires it, by crane.
